Where will you tie the knot?!

I’m very much looking forward to all the fabulous couples that I will be leading wedding ceremonies for in 2017. What an honour it will to be part of their big day.

A recent article in Stylist magazine, listed some of the more unusual UK wedding venues that people have chosen. A submarines, a treehouse, a whiskey vault….see more here

I love the fact that couples are getting more and more adventurous, and choosing to do it ‘their way’. Whilst many of the venues that people choose aren’t legally licensed, separating out the visit to the registry office to satisfy the legal requirements of the marriage, and then using an independent celebrant to lead a personalised ceremony for the wedding, means brides & grooms have much more say in their special day.

As many couples are doing nowadays, my husband Dan and I, decided to get married in a field on a working organic farm, and had all of our guests arrive by tractor! We satisfied all the legal requirements on the Friday with a quick trip to the local registry office, and then had our wedding the day after. Having our ceremony in a field with far-reaching views across to Glastonbury Tor, was perfect and the sun shone too.

My transport to the ceremony wasn’t the most glamorous, but my Dad and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as we bumped our way up the farm track, and it certainly turned a few heads! Lizzie from Hunstile Farm drove us up to the stone circle, before heading back down to the farm to make up enormous amounts of Pimms ready for when we returned from the top field. Delicious!

Whether you are looking for a more traditional-style wedding in a stately home, or whether you want to skydive your way to becoming ‘Mr & Mrs’ there are so many different options available. The (wedding) world really is your oyster.

Be bold. Be brave. Be prepared to make your wedding day exactly what you want it to be.

Please contact me if you’re engaged and starting to discuss options. I’d love to help.

Hannah Osmond, Celebrant

As an Independent Celebrant I love all things associated with ceremony, ritual and celebration. Whether it be a wedding, a renewal of vows, a milestone birthday or a funeral, there is nothing more powerful than a coming together of friends and family to mark a particular occassion. It's a real privilege to be involved in these special moments in peoples' lives. Life is so short. Let's celebrate more!
